Open Farm Sunday
Ever wondered where the wheat in the last loaf of bread you bought came from, or how it was grown? Did you know that a big component of the last pint of beer you drank is barley, and do you have any idea how much barley a farmer can grow in a field, and how many pints that actually makes?
Come along to Open Farm Sunday here at Lodge Farm to find out! We grow cereals here - wheat, oats and barley - and we'd love to tell you more about how these crops go from being seeds in the ground to food on your plate.
You'll meet the farmers who grow your food, see machinery displays with the equipment we use being demonstrated, go on either a walking tour or tractor & trailer ride tour of the farm, get hands on with activities for children, and much more!
Our bar will be open for hot, cold, soft & alcoholic drinks, and there'll be food available too - so why not make a day of it? Entrance is free and we'd love to meet you! We'll be open from 1-5pm and you're welcome to drop in anytime,
